Online Speed Dating is a concept similar to regular "Speed Dating", except that it takes place online (webcam is optional but recommended). Speed Dating is a round-robin matchmaking for singles to meet. Men and women are rotated over a series of short "dates", typically 3 to 6 minutes in length. At the end of the event everyone selects a list of those who they "liked" and would like to provide their contact information to. If both of the partners vote YES, then there is a match and contact information is forwarded to both parties. Online Speed Dating gives the convenience and privacy of doing this from home using a webcam and a headset. Some websites even provide the capability just for text based speed dating for those who do not own a camera.
